The Monday feature of the Worldly Saints blog focuses on a story from the sports world – current or historic. The point is to recognize athletes who are using their sports and athletic abilities to further the kingdom of God or to show how some athletes are wasting their days by not giving God the glory.
Well, tonight I don’t know whether I should be excited or concerned for the opponent of the Michigan St. Spartans’ (MSU) opponent. If you follow college basketball, you know the first few games of a season are usually pretty “soft.” What that means is that teams like MSU – who are national basketball powerhouses – will schedule teams early in their schedule that aren’t very good or maybe just can’t compete with their talent. Teams do this in order to help build some rhythm for their teams, confidence, etc.
If you want to watch this game and pay an online fee, go to this page and sign up. For me, I will follow the beat-down on ESPN Gamecast. I am thankful I have an elder’s meeting tonight to keep me occupied!
