Charles Spurgeon on Who God Looks to Save

The Friday feature of the Worldly Saints blog is all about quotes. No commentary from me, no reflection, etc. Just a provocative or informative quote from a saint in church history.

“If you are the biggest sinner from hell, you are as fit to come to Christ as if you were the most moral and excellent of men. There is a bath: who is fit to be washed? A man’s blackness is no reason why he should not be washed, but the clearer reason why he should be. When our city magistrates gave relief to the poor, nobody said, “I am so poor that I am not fit to have relief.” Your poverty is your preparation. The blackness becomes the white here. What a strange contradiction!”
