Twelve Days of Christmas Songs – Chris Tomlin’s “Joy to the World”

This is Day #4 of the Twelve Days of Christmas songs.

Joy to the World must never be sung – in my opinion – like a funeral dirge or with a tempo so slow that you can watch paint dry and grass grow. Since the song is a celebration about a new creation that is made possible by the life and work of Christ, it is cause for an upbeat, up-tempo jubilee of praise.

And many have done this song in such a style. A favorite version I have recently discovered is Chris Tomlin’s rendition.

I pray you are as blessed by the lyrics as I am.

This particular video appeared on Fox News a few years ago with a children’s choir from Uganda. How can you not love those huge smiles in the background?
